Caboodles Early Childhood Center is a New York State Licensed Daycare Center located on the Otis Technology campus in Lyons Falls, NY. The center, which opened its doors in September 2006, welcomes children from 6 weeks to 12 years old. The facility provides high quality, safe, and reliable care for the children and grandchildren of Otis Technology employees and the community. Otis Technology pays 50% of childcare expenses for all children and grandchildren of their employees who attend.

Our Day Care Facility

Now in its fourth year of operation, the staff currently has the capacity to accommodate 66 children. This 6,000 square foot, state-of-the-art daycare center features an Infant Room (6 weeks-1 year), a Waddler Room (1 year-18 months), a Toddler Room (18 months-3 years), as well as a Preschool Room (3-5 years). The School Age Room (5-12 years) hosts AM and PM programs during the school year along with a summer program that operates during the months of July and August. The children favor the specially designed lofts and book nooks in each classroom. A gymnasium, complete with a basketball hoop, chalkboard walls, bicycles and other play equipment, is available for gross motor activities. There are two developmentally appropriate playgrounds that are directly accessible from each classroom. The playgrounds provide quality equipment for the designated age group (6 weeks to 3 years and 3 to 12 years). Two home cooked meals and a snack are prepared daily in Caboodles’ kitchen by the chef.

The Caboodles' Approach

Staffed by 20 enthusiastic early childhood education professionals, the day care is committed to supporting the families we serve while promoting the social, emotional, physical, and intellectual growth of each child in a warm, caring, home-like environment. The children enjoy both indoor and outdoor play daily along with structured activities. The Creative Curriculum is used as a guide for activity planning throughout the center. Caboodles’ programs are based on the following important beliefs. Process is more important than product. Children learn by doing. Each child’s unique creativity should be encouraged whenever possible. Each child and family has individual needs. Caboodles’ child centered philosophy accepts each child at his/her own developmental level. Children are encouraged to learn through rich experiences.
