Otis All-Caliber Patch
The all-caliber patch will clean from 22 to 45 caliber rifles
pistols and all shotguns. The patch is a significant breakthrough
in gun cleaning. This one patch replaces 7 different size patches,
thus one patch for all firearms from 22 caliber to 12 gauge. Each
patch will have 6 new cleaning surfaces, thus
you can completely clean any firearm with one patch.
 |
Slot "A" is used with the smallest brass #2 tip to clean
22 to 270 caliber.Slot "B" is used with the middle size #3 tip to clean
30 to 45 caliber.Slot 'B" is always used for shotguns 410 to 12 gauge. |
 |
Put the tip in the proper slot.
Take a pinch on the patch.
Pinch the patch upward as illustrated. |
 |
Feed the tip of the fold through the slot in the tip. |
 |
Pull the fold through tightly to lock the patch on the tip. This
will make a knot that will scrub deep into the rifling. It is
impossible for the patch to come loose in the bore. |
 |
You have now created a cone that will give 360 degree coverage.
This will center the tip in the barrel and prevent the tip from
rubbing the inside of the bore. The Knot in the patch at
the end of the tip will scrub deep into the corners of the rifling. |
 |
By pinching at different locations, you can vary the size of the patch. The knot in the patch is made larger as the patch is shortened in length. The chart below shows the location to make the proper size patch. |

The Shotgun patch
The forged brass shotgun tip has a patented internal thread. This
lets the tip take advantage of the 900 lb. breaking strength of
the memory-flex rod.
To use the tip simply put it over the female rod end and turn
clockwise to lock the tip on the rod. Screw it all the way about
4 to 5 turns.
Now put the tip in slot "B" place the patch saver over
the patch. Take a pinch on the patch at the 6 O'clock position.
This gives you the maximum amount of material to lock the patch
on. Put the point of the patch through the slot in the tip. Pull
tightly as you move the patch saver forward. You will notice that
the patch will lock the patch and patch saver onto the tip.
Normally with a slotted tip you would randomly scrub either side
of the barrel. With the all-caliber patch you clean the entire
surface.
With one pull down the barrel you will actually squeegee the inside
of the chamber, forcing cone, bore, and choke.
